The city of Rimini itself dates back to the 1st Century BC and one of monument which has stood the test of time is the Arch of Augustus.  Plus another popular tourist attraction to those who visit the city are the Roman Bridge of Tiberius, the Tempio Malatestiano and the Castel Sismondo. 

However, when staying in Rimini one should not restrict yourself to spending time exploring this part of Italy but hire a car also.  This will then offer you the chance to visit the cities of Florence, Venice and Bologna and you may want to also visit Ravenna or the Republic of San Marino during your Rimini holiday.  

The other way of actually getting to visit some of the cities we have mentioned above and which costs far less than hiring a car is to go by train.  The cost of taking the train one way to the city of Bologna will cost around 5.50 Euros and it takes about an hour in total to get there.
