When it comes to a break in Italy the most commonly though of and visited city is none other than Rome itself. Situated only 24 kilometers away from the Tyrrhenian Sea, the exterior parts of the city reach almost all the way to the shoreline.

While the city still remains almost fully functional, around August when the temperature in Rome climbs to 32 °C and over, by tradition many businesses will close up shop for the season and head out on their own vacation.
