Sicily holidays are not only popular with the Italians but are also becoming popular with people from around the world.  However, you can choose to stay in one resort whilst you are holidaying in Sicily, but if you really want to discover its diversity then booking in to several different hotels in Sicily would be the preferred option. 

When it comes to this part of Italy you will be able to learn a lot about its past from the times when the Greeks settled on its shores to taking a look more closely at its medieval past.  Plus one must not forget its links with the Roman’s as well. 

The main places where many people choose to visit when holidaying in Sicily are Taormina, Cefalu, Agrigento, Palermo, Syracuse, Erice and Mazara Del Vallo.  Plus we must not forget the seaside resort of Capo D’Orlando as well. 

For those looking for great nightlife then of course no visit to Sicily will be complete without one spending time in its capital, Palermo.  This is a very cosmopolitan city and as you wander its streets you will notice the influences of the Normans, Arabs and Spanish who have all called this city their home. 

However, if you really want to delve more in to Sicily’s history then spending time visit the towns of Syracuse and Agrigento should be considered.  In Agrigento and Syracuse one can wander the streets which are the same as they were during medieval times.  However it is Agrigento you will find one of the most impressive Greek temple dating back many centuries that is situated outside of Greece.
